BET AWARDS 2022! THE FUTURE FOR AFRICANS.

Africa made history at the recent Black Entertainment Television(BET) Awards. It was a celebration of African Cultural heritage, passion style of music. It became a moment for African artists to showcase their in-depth tanents to the World. It's no news how nigerian artists have been making waves and recognition across the globe. Artists have been winning different Awards including the BET Awards year after year. What this means is that the future is bright for Nigerian artist and there is the possibility that Nigerians may dominate the international music industries in the nearer future.
Couple of artist have been nominated for various categories over the years. This year's award marked as a different and significant time because notable big shorts went home with different categories of the BET AWARDS. It is indeed a great joy and a good thing to promote black culture as Wizkid and Tems became the first Nigeria and Africans to win a major category at the BET Awards. Wizkid won the BET awards for the fourth time, this makes him to be the most awarded African artist to have won the popular international award. Awards he has won include Best International Act: Africa in 2012, Best International Act: Africa 2017, BET HER Award for “Brown Skin Girl” and Best Collaboration for Essence 2022.
Wizkid's song ‘Essence remix’ featuring Tems & Justin Bieber won “Best Collaboration” at the 2022 BET Awards to become the first African song to win in a major category at the BET Awards. Tems in another way won the Best International Artist Award(Best International Act) making her the first Afrobeats artist to take home two BET Awards in one night. Tems dedicated the award to every single woman who may not believe they could chase their dreams.
